Mark’s journey into strength training began in the most relatable way, by tweaking his back while picking up his kid’s toys. That moment set off a transformative path. From battling chronic back, knee and shoulder pain, to rediscovering his strength through training at Higher Performance, he found not just recovery, but a new calling.
Leaving behind a corporate career in finance that spanned roles as an Accountant, Financial Analyst and Auditor, Mark is now a certified personal trainer, specialising in active ageing. As a father who’s experienced firsthand the toll of modern parenting on physical health, he is passionate about helping others in similar life stages reclaim their fitness and longevity.
Constantly refining his craft with tools like kettlebells, barbells and bodyweight training, Mark has achieved personal milestones including ring muscle-ups, pistol squats and one-arm, one-leg push-ups.
Outside the gym, he trains for Spartan races and competes in indoor and outdoor climbing competitions, with several podium finishes under his belt. He is currently working towards the Strongfirst Barbell (SFL) certification in September this year.
